This highly interactive workshop is designed to explore a background of Marine Insurance (Hull and Cargo) and its evolution to providing cover in the present insurance environment.
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- To provide an understanding of the various common forms of Marine Cargo Insurance protection
- To understand the basics of Hull Insurance Underwriting
- Understand the conditions of transit
- Define the responsibilities of Exporters and Importers respectively
Mr. Sookdeo Beepath joined the insurance industry in Trinidad and Tobago in 1972 as a clerical officer, and began his insurance education at the Academy of Insurance, founded by the Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Institute (TTII). He continued his insurance educational pursuits at renowned international institutions in Mumbai, India and Zurich, Switzerland. Mr. Beepath holds a Certificate in Human Resource Management and a Diploma in Industrial Relations. He is also a Certified Financial Planner. He read for his MBA in Business Management at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business. He also served as President of the Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Institute and the Association of Insurance Institutes of the Caribbean, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Trinidad & Tobago Insurance Companies (ATTIC) and Chairman of its Claims Committee. Mr. Beepath currently lectures on the Bachelor’s Degree in Risk and Insurance at the University of the West Indies.
