The Essentials of Corporate Governance for Insurance Professionals 1
This workshop is designed to educate participants on corporate governance as a system of rules, practices, and processes by which an insurance company is governed. It includes corporate structure (board of directors, senior management, business area functions, etc.), the company’s organizational culture (values, ethics, etc.), strategies, controls, as well as all the governing documents that capture the spirit and the letter of a company’s guiding principles and mandates.
Fundamentals of AML /CFT / CPF
Participants will gain an understanding into the fundamental concepts of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Terrorist Financing (TF) and Proliferation Financing (PF) within a local context, along with exposure to the governing legislation.
- Be exposed to the organisational structure and role of corporate governance.
- Understand governance issues as stipulated by the Insurance Act 2018 (as amended) and CBTT guidelines.
- Understand control functions such as risk management, compliance, audits, reporting to the Board and whistleblowing.
- Understand the local context (social and economic impact) of AML/CFT/CFP from relevant illustrations.
- Explain the fundamentals of concept of money laundering, typologies and the stages of ML cycle etc.
- Identify and list similarities and differences between TF and ML.
