Identify and explain the main types of surety bonds, including Bid/Tender, Advance Payment, Performance / Supply, Contract, Customs and Other types of bonds.
Understand the underwriting process for surety, including the "Three C's" of surety (Character, Capacity, Capital).
Analyze the risks involved in surety and the remedies available to the surety company.
Understand how bonds are terminated.
Gain an appreciation for Bond Claims
Advise clients on appropriate bonding needs and documentation requirements.

Mr. Karan Ramlal is currently the Managing Director of a leading brokerage firm. His career spans over thirty-five (35) years, as an insurance professional with over twelve (12) years broking experience. Throughout his employment at senior levels in the industry, he became known as one of the best technical experts having in-depth knowledge in Underwriting, Reinsurance and Claims.
Mr. Ramlal attained his Dip. Ins. Diploma in 1987, his ACII in 1991 and Chartered status in 1995.
He is no stranger to the TTII and has lectured extensively for the State Licencing Examinations and many other workshops over the years. He has also lectured throughout the Caribbean for over twenty-five (25) years especially in specialist fields such as oil, gas and energy liability business.
