Cloud security is a collection of procedures and technology designed to address external and internal threats to business security. Organizations need cloud security as they move toward their digital transformation strategy and incorporate cloud-based tools and services as part of their infrastructure.

A host of cybersecurity challenges come with a cloud-based application architecture, and multiple cloud-native environments. These challenges demand meticulous attention and proactive mitigation measures. Organisations can navigate these challenging landscapes however, by adopting a proactive and holistic approach to cybersecurity in the cloud.

This workshop is designed to introduce participants to best-practices that involves stringent access controls, periodic assessments, and a pervasive culture of security consciousness, to forge resilient, secure, and compliant cloud environment.

 

The Data Protection Act and You

This highly interactive session is designed to provide participants with knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act and the importance of data protection for insurers and insurance professionals.

• Understand how to implement a framework that authenticates, authorises, and continuously validates applications and data.

• Understand how to migrate container vulnerabilities
• Appreciate the governance issues involved in Cyber security

• Understand the importance of data protection for Insurers and others working in the insurance industry
• Understand implications for data breaches
• Understand risk mitigants to deal with data breaches

 

Cybersecurity – Protecting the Cloud Anish Bachu is an experienced cyber security professional attached to the Trinidad and Tobago Cyber Security Incident Response Team (TT-CSIRT) under the Ministry of National Security. He is the team lead for financial services sector security and heath sector security. His duties range from incident response, vulnerability and threat monitoring at a national level and cyber security assessments of government systems and infrastructure. Anish graduated from St. John’s University in New York with a BSc in Cyber Security Systems and a Masters of Business Administration in Information Systems and Decision Science. He is also a member of the Cyber Security Industry Advisory Board at St. John’s for their BSc and MSc programs.   The Data Protection Act and You Sarita Parsad is an Attorney who has been working in the insurance industry for the past fourteen years. She possesses experience handling insurance regulatory matters and all issues pertaining to insurance property and casualty claims. She currently holds the position of Head, Legal & Compliance at Trinidad & Tobago Insurance Limited (TATIL), where she is responsible for all compliance related issues across T&T and Barbados. Ms. Parsad possesses a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) with honours and a Masters in Law Degree (LLM, Corporate and Commercial Law) from the University of the West Indies, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Henley School of Business, UK, and an Advanced Diploma (ACII) from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK where she is a Member of the Society of Claims Professionals. She is currently enrolled in the Fellowship Program at the Chartered Insurance Institute and actively pursuing an MSc in Insurance and Sustainable Risk Management at Glasgow Caledonian University, UK.
