1952-Established as an arm of the CII with goal of educating the insurance industry. 

1969- Established a Tuition Service.

1972- Established by Act no. 25 of 1972, cited as the Trinidad and Tobago Insurance Institute (Incorproartion) Act 1972 of Parliament by the government of Trinidad and Tobago.

2007- Appointed Post-Secondary Educational Institute by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT).

2011- Collaborated  with the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus to established the BSc. Insurance and Risk Management.

2012- Celebrated 60 years of existence.

2017- Appointed Local Awarding Body by the by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT).

2018- Beacme a memebr of a collective National Financial Education Stragey Committee, established by the Office of the Financila Service Ombudsman. 

2020- Appointed by the Minisrty of Finance as the Approved Educational Institute charged with the responsibilty for supervision and administration of Continuous Professional Development activites for the insurance industry, pursuant to s119 (2) of the IA 2018, in addition to the State Licensing Examinations. 

2021- Launch of the TTII’s eLearning Academy.

2021 – Became an official Affiliated Institute of the CII. 

2022-Celebrating 70 years of educating the insurance industry!
